We all grow. Children and adults, every day we develop. Observation, research and continuous training, combined with intuition, allow us to assimilate new learnings to accompany childhood in a competent, respectful, sensitive and conscious way. Whether as family members, adults around the child or also in our professional practice as educators.
This is how the Thais Lefcadito - Childhood Observatory - took shape to find a lighter, simpler and more meaningful way when approaching to Early Childhood.
A community of development of our gaze and of our presence in the accompaniment of children. An observatory based on Waldorf/Piklerian inspiration, along with other pedagogies that care for and watch over childhood and human well-being.
The Childhood Observatory was born to talk about child development, bonding, limits as caring, autonomy, edu-care, free play and self-induced movement, everyday pedagogy, materials, spaces, behavior, about the presence and role of the adult.
It's about observing to really see the child in front of us, to better meet their true needs and for us to get closer to who we want to be for our children/students/kids in our society.
How do we promote and make education simpler, more careful and full of essence and meaning? How to stick to what is essential, what has value, quality, what really matters?
Here on the Blog you will find some texts to inspire reflection and help in practice.
